Dear Player(s)/Parent(s):

On behalf of the Brantford Boys CYO/Brantford Hawks programs, I would like to provide everyone an update on the 2020/2021 basketball season. As you all know, our 2019/2020 season was cut short by COVID 19. At the moment, all permits have been placed into our facilities providers for the coming season. Once we hear back from these providers, we will be in a better position to advise people about the coming season. Without proper gym facilities, the program is unable to operate. The program hopes to receive some additional information by early to mid-August about the facilities issue. Many facility providers are still working on operational issues surrounding COVID 19 as they have been closed since mid-March of 2020.

Our first goal is to ensure the health, welfare and safety of our players, coaches, volunteers, and stakeholders. This will be accomplished by following provincial and local health mandates. Along with this, the program will also implement safeguards recommended by Basketball Canada and the associated provincial body.

As there is no recognized vaccine for COVID 19, the program will be forced to make some operational changes to our programing to ensure player safety. These issues will be discussed at length by the Executive team before the season starts. Additional updates will follow in due course.

At this time, I would ask all members of the Brantford Boys CYO/Brantford Hawks programs to follow all safety protocols approved by our government. If we continue to wear masks in public areas, social distance and wash our hands regularly, these measures should protect everyone. The past few months have been very trying. If we continue to do the right things for the next 4-6 weeks, it is our hope we can have another great basketball season. Your patience and understanding during this unprecedented period are greatly appreciated.

Yours very truly,

 The Brantford Boys CYO/Brantford Hawks Executive Team
