BRANTFORD HAWKS REP BASKETBALL PROGRAM 2023-2024
Rep teams are comprised of Brantford CYO house-league players who try out and are selected to the team by the coaches.
The teams will compete in a league, participate in tournaments and play in exhibition games. Exact schedules will be determined by each coach. The season will end with the Ontario Basketball provincial championships. Teams will normally practice three times a week (two during the week and once on weekends). As part of the Brantford Hawk Rep Basketball team, we require that all players make a 100% commitment to the team, if you are unable to make the commitment, please contact the coach during tryouts.
The cost per player is between $450 and $650 depending on the team schedule (higher for AAU teams). As well, each player selected will be responsible for purchasing their own uniform from the designated uniform supplier. The cost is estimated at $150 per player.

TRY-OUT FEES:
NOTE FOR ELEMENTARY TEAMS: All players who want to try out for our elementary aged Rep teams are required to register in our corresponding House League program. If the player is successful in making the Rep team, they will be withdrawn from the House League program, and their fees will be applied towards the Rep team program.
NOTES FOR HIGH SCHOOL TEAMS:

– Players already enrolled in our high school house league are not required to pay the $25 fee. If the player is successful in making the Rep team, their house league fees will be applied towards the Rep team program. If the player is unsuccessful in making the rep team, and wishes to withdraw from house league, we will refund house league fees, minus the $25 fee.

PARTICIPATION
Brantford CYO Hawks Rep Basketball follows the rules of Basketball Ontario with respect to player participation:
Novice and Atom: All games are structured based on equal playing time, as defined by Basketball Ontario.
Bantam to Juvenile: There is no minimum playing time per player. However, the coaches of the Brantford Rep Basketball teams will endeavor to maximize the playing time for all team members. The amount of time may be dependent upon several factors: 1) the caliber of the opponent, 2) the substitution patterns of the opponent, 3) the actual game situation, 4) practice attendance, etc. Every coach has been advised that every player on a team should have a positive experience.
